Bicyclists do not automatically have the right of way. While operating in a roadway, bicyclists usually have the same duties and must obey the same laws as drivers. While bicycles are not the same as cars, and exceptions and differences may exist on the road for bicyclists and cars like bicycle lanes, no person should assume they have the right of way simply because they are on a bicycle.
