Indianapolis, Indiana Bankruptcy Lawyer Keith Gifford answers:

How do I choose a bankruptcy attorney?

A person filing bankruptcy should ask for recommendations on bankruptcy lawyers from friends or other lawyers in the area and also consult the white pages of the phone book by looking lawyers up by specialty. He or she should then schedule interviews with each lawyer about his or her experience, the fee that would be required and the attention given to the case (would a lawyer or paralegal handle it?). Beware of attorneys promising impossibly low fees -- they will probably not devote an adequate amount of time to the case.
