Frank Ashton graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1986 with High Honors and was a member of the prestigious honor society, Order of the Coif. He was the Articles Editor of the University of Florida Law Review.

After law school, Mr. Ashton went on to work in multiple law firms and state agencies. He was an Assistant State Attorney and a homicide prosecutor for the State Attorney's Office, in Duval, Clay and Nassau Counties. He has also been a civil trial lawyer for more than 20 years. Mr. Ashton was President of the Jacksonville Trial Lawyers' Association in 2003 and is a member of the National Trial Lawyers - Top 100 Trial Lawyers. He holds an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell, the highest rating for legal ability and ethics. Additionally, he is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum which is limited to attorneys who have obtained multi-million dollar awards for their clients.

Mr. Ashton is a member of multiple bar associations including The Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the American Justice Association, the Florida Justice Association and the Jacksonville Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts as well as the Federal District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Ashton is also a retired Commander in the United States Navy Reserve.
