After Sandy Hook Shooting, Newtown Schools Get New Security

Schools in Newtown are getting brand new security cameras, more than one month after a tragic shooting at the district’s Sandy Hook Elementary.

And that’s just one in a series of security measures the district is taking. The Newtown board of Education formally accepted a generous donation from advanced security technologies.

The owner said if all goes according to plan, 30 new state-of-the-art security cameras will be installed at all Newtown schools by the end of next week. And that’s thanks to a team effort across the industry.

Twenty-six children and adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School, when a gunman burst in and started shooting in December.

The gunman, Adam Lanza, also killed his mother and himself.
