In law school I earned the Book Award (top in class) in three classes: Criminal Law, Federal Income Tax, and Property Law. I served as a certified legal intern and prosecuted several trials at the Miami-Dade Prosecutor's Office as a law student. Upon graduation, I moved to Orlando and served as a prosecutor in various trial divisions for three years where I prosecuted cases ranging from DUIs and misdemeanors to murder cases. In 1999 my law partners and I formed the law firm of Jacobson, McClean, Chmelir & Ferwerda; since that time I have been representing clients in Central Florida and beyond primarily handling criminal, family, and appellate matters. I am licensed to practice law in three states, have served as the Chairman of the 18th Judicial Circuit grievance committee, and have volunteered in various other capacities within the Central Florida Community.
