Are antitrust laws effective in preventing market abuse?

Overall, antitrust laws are effective in reducing market abuse. When businesses are prohibited from taking advantage of consumers, these consumers have more power as they are able to get better prices, choices, and services in the market. This ensures the fairness of the market and allows it to function properly. Additionally, antitrust enforcement protects innovation as businesses are unable to use unfair tactics to drive out competition.
