What are the rights of photographers and videographers?
In Oklahoma, photographers and videographers are subject to the same rights and protections as any other artist or creator. The Copyright Act of 1976 protects the expression of ideas and gives creators the exclusive right to sell and license their work. This includes photographers and videographers. In Oklahoma, photographers and videographers are also granted certain moral rights, which are not exclusive to Oklahoma, but can be applied to protect their work. These rights include the right of attribution, which allows the artist to be named as the creator when their work is used, and the right of integrity, which allows the creator to maintain control over the work and its modification. Photographers and videographers also have the right to protect against unauthorized uses of their work. This includes protecting against sponsorships, endorsements, and other uses of the work without the creator’s permission. This protection also applies to protecting their images and videos from being used on websites, advertisements, and other publications without their consent. Lastly, photographers and videographers may have the right to restrict the use of their work in certain circumstances. This could include the right to decline usage of their work in contexts which may be deemed immoral, unethical, or offensive. This right is not absolute, and is subject to the laws of Oklahoma.
