What are the laws about carrying oversized loads?

In Arizona, there are several laws that govern the transportation of oversized loads. According to Arizona Revised Statute 28-1105, it is illegal to transport or tow any objects over 8 feet in width or 12 feet in height, or any objects with a gross weight of more than 10,000 pounds without a valid permit. It is also illegal to transport an oversize load without the proper warning devices on either side of the vehicle and a flashing white or amber light on the front of the vehicle. Additionally, all loads over 9 feet 6 inches wide require an escort vehicle, and loads over 14 feet 6 inches in overall length and 12 feet in width require an escort vehicle in both the front and rear. Escort vehicles must be equipped with signal devices and must display warning signs. Drivers of vehicles carrying oversized loads must obey specific rules and regulations at all times. They must obey lowered speed limits and yield the right of way to other drivers. They must also be aware of the weather and road conditions and must pull over in the event of extreme weather or other hazardous conditions. In summary, Arizona has strict laws regarding the carrying of oversized loads. Drivers must obtain permits, follow certain safety regulations, and make sure that all warning devices and signs are properly displayed. Following these regulations is essential to ensure the safety of all drivers on the roads.
