What are the laws about tinting the side mirrors?
In Kansas, it is against the law to tint the side mirrors of a vehicle. There are strict rules for tinting the side mirrors, which must be adhered to in order to remain in compliance with state law. All of the side mirrors must have a “minimum light transmittance” of 30%. This means that no more than 30% of the light passing through the side mirror can be blocked. This must be measured using a light meter, and all light from 400-700 nanometers must be taken into account when measuring. It is also against the law to tint the windows of a vehicle in Kansas. All windows on the vehicle must have a minimum light transmittance of 35%. Additionally, any tinting of windows must be consistent across all windows. Only the two rear windows may have a light transmittance of less than 35%, but the amount of tinting must be uniform. All other windows must have a minimum light transmittance of 35%. In Kansas, it is illegal to tint the side mirrors or windows of a vehicle in any manner that does not conform to the requirements outlined by state law. Violation of this law can result in a fine or other penalties. Additionally, tinting of side mirrors or windows can affect the safety and visibility of the driver and other road users. It is important to adhere to the rules and regulations when tinting the side mirrors or windows of a vehicle.
