What are the regulations regarding aircraft operations during adverse weather?

In Alaska, the regulations regarding aircraft operations during adverse weather are very strict and must be followed. All aircraft must maintain a safe distance from stormy weather, even if the plane is equipped with advanced navigational and weather-sensing technology. All flights must adhere to the airborne visibilities and cloud ceiling minimums specified in the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Additionally, all aircraft must be equipped with the necessary navigation equipment, including an approved GPS receiver, in order to safely navigate through or around adverse weather conditions. Furthermore, aircraft must not fly below the minimum safe altitude or closer than five miles from thunderstorms. Additionally, all aircraft must be equipped with a minimum of two engine and airframe de-icing systems. If a pilot encounters any icing conditions, they are required to fly at least 3,000 feet above the highest concentration of ice. In addition, the FAA requires pilots to have a minimum of three hours of instrument flight experience in order to fly in and out of a covered airport during fog or low visibility. Finally, aircrafts are required to maintain radio contact with air traffic control or other designated communication devices when flying in and out of airports during adverse weather. The ultimate goal of these regulations is to ensure the safety of all aircrafts and their passengers and to prevent aircraft from becoming lost due to unexpected weather changes.
