What are my rights as a business litigant?

As a business litigant in the state of Washington, you have certain legal rights that enable you to protect your interests in the court of law. The most fundamental right is the right to a fair hearing in front of a judge and/or jury. This ensures that every side in a dispute has the opportunity to present their case and that the proceedings will be unbiased. In addition to a fair hearing, you also have the right to legal representation. This includes the right to seek out and hire an attorney, or to be appointed an attorney if you cannot afford to hire one. Your attorney will be able to provide you with legal advice and guidance throughout the course of the litigation and will provide a powerful advocate for your interests in the courtroom. Finally, you have the right to a jury trial if you choose to seek one. This means that a panel of jurors (usually 12 members) will hear the case, consider evidence, listen to arguments, and decide on the verdict. Keep in mind that the legal system is complex and ever-changing, so it’s best to seek the advice of an experienced attorney who can outline all of your rights and provide the best legal advice for your specific case.
