Business law in Oklahoma is a branch of law that covers the many aspects of running a business, such as contracts, taxes, and employment. It also includes areas such as intellectual property, internet law, and anti-trust law. Business law exists to help businesses operate with a level of predictability. Business law is based on rules and regulations established by federal, state, and local governments. These laws are meant to protect the interests of both the business and its customers. The primary focus of business law is to make sure businesses remain in compliance with the laws and regulations. Business law can be divided into two categories: transactional law and litigation.
