What are the legal requirements for foreign investment?
Foreign investment is an important source of capital for many businesses in Texas. To ensure the proper legal requirements are met, businesses must follow certain state and federal regulations. At the state level, the Texas Securities Act sets forth the legal requirements for foreign investment. Specifically, any foreign investment must register with the Texas State Securities Board in order for it to be considered legitimate. This includes establishing contracts and agreements that clearly spell out the terms and conditions of the investment, as well as obtaining any necessary approvals from local or state authorities.
