Is it legal to consume cannabis while driving?

In Washington State, it is illegal to consume cannabis while operating a motor vehicle. This includes smoking, vaping and even consuming edibles. Additionally, it is illegal to possess or consume any amount of cannabis while in or on a motor vehicle, even if you are stopped in a parking lot, or if the vehicle is off and not operating. Cannabis is legal for recreational use in Washington State, but you must remember that consuming it while operating a motor vehicle is a serious crime. If you choose to consume cannabis, make sure you do so in a safe and legal place.
