In Pennsylvania, the use of Cannabis in public places is strictly prohibited and is considered a crime. Under Pennsylvania’s Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act, it is illegal to possess or use any form of cannabis in public. This includes any form of smoking, mere possession, or use of an edible, oil, extract, or any other form of cannabis. If caught using or possessing cannabis in public, the violater may face serious civil or criminal consequences. In addition, Pennsylvania law also prohibits the use or possession of cannabis on any school grounds, including public or private universities. This means that it is illegal to consume, possess, use, or buy marijuana on any school campus. If a person is caught using or possessing cannabis on school grounds, they could face serious consequences including fines, jail time, and/or suspension/expulsion from school. Furthermore, it is also illegal to consume or possess cannabis or cannabis-infused products in any vehicle. If caught using or possessing cannabis in a vehicle, the violator could face a criminal fine up to $500 and/or up to 30 days in jail.
