Are there any limitations on the amount of cannabis that can be bought at one time?
Yes, there are limitations on the amount of cannabis that can be purchased at one time in the state of Kansas. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) determines the amount of cannabis individuals can buy each time they make a purchase. As of 2021, the limit is set at four ounces (113.4 grams) of marijuana, which includes both THC-containing products and non-THC-containing products like CBD oil. Retailers in Kansas are also bound by Operation Kansas Cares and must adhere to the established limits. Any individual or business found to be in violation of these limits can be subject to civil and/or criminal penalties. The maximum amount of cannabis that can be legally possessed in Kansas is 15 grams (0.5 ounces). Any person found to be in possession of more than 15 grams of cannabis can face misdemeanor or felony charges. Additionally, individuals must be 21 years of age or older in order to purchase cannabis in Kansas, and sales are permitted only between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. each day. All sales must be performed in accordance with state regulations, which include providing purchasers with an ID verifying they are 21 years of age or older, and collecting taxes from each sale. In addition, cannabis products must have a Kansas-issued label, provided by the KDHE, in order to be sold.
