What is false advertising?
False advertising is when a company or individual advertises a product or service that is not true or accurate. It is illegal and can lead to fines and other forms of punishment. Penalties for false advertising can range from warnings and fines to jail time. Companies that are found guilty of false advertising can also be required to pay damages to those who have been affected by their false advertising.
