What is the role of the class action counsel?
Class action counsel are attorneys who represent members of a class in a class action lawsuit. A class action is a type of lawsuit where a large group of people with the same or similar legal claims join together to collectively bring a claim against a defendant. The class action counsel is responsible for managing the litigation process and selecting and representing the plaintiffs in the lawsuit. Class action counsel will review all the claims and determine if the claims meet the requirements of a class action lawsuit. Once they have determined the merits of the case, they will draft and file the complaint with the court to begin the litigation process. Throughout the litigation process, class action counsel will outline the legal arguments and research the facts and evidence to support the claims. They will also coordinate the discovery process, where evidence is collected from both sides and used to prove or disprove claims. At trial, class action counsel will act as the primary advocate for the class, presenting the legal arguments and facts to the court. If the case is successful, class action counsel will also negotiate and secure a settlement for the class and distribute the settlement money to the members of the class. Class action counsel plays an important role in class action lawsuits. They are responsible for representing the class and ensuring that class members receive the proper compensation for their claims.
