What is an exclusive license?

An exclusive license is a type of copyright license that gives the licensee the exclusive right to reproduce, distribute, and/or perform a copyrighted work in Delaware. This means that only the licensee can legally use the copyrighted work and they are the only one who can enforce the copyright against anyone who violates it. The exclusive licensee has the right to authorize others to use the work, and can also seek legal remedies against anyone who violates the copyright. An exclusive licensee is also entitled to a portion of any profits generated by the use of the copyrighted work. An exclusive licensee has the right to stop others from using the copyrighted work, but does not have the right to sue for infringement, which must be done by the copyright owner.
