What is a contract of service?

A contract of service is an agreement between two parties in which one party agrees to provide services to the other. In Texas, a contract of service is legally binding once it is signed and accepted by both parties involved. This type of contract is often used to establish a working relationship between an employer and employee. It outlines the duties and responsibilities of the employee and the compensation the employee will receive for their work. The contract of service also outlines the terms of employment such as the starting and ending date of employment and can include other details such as vacation and sick leave. Both the employer and employee are responsible for fulfilling the terms of the contract of service and any breach of contract could result in legal action.
