What is the validity of an option contract?

An option contract in Delaware is a type of contract where one party gives another party the right, but not the obligation, to purchase or sell a certain asset, such as real estate, at a specified price at some point in the future. A valid option contract must meet certain legal requirements. In Delaware, all contracts must include an offer and an acceptance. If the terms in the offer are accepted, a contract is formed.
