What is the drug trade?
The drug trade is the buying and selling of illegal drugs on the black market. It is the distribution and exchange of drugs between individuals who purchase and sell them illegally. In Utah, the drug trade is a prominent problem, and it is illegal to purchase, possess, manufacture, or distribute any type of controlled substance. Drug trafficking and manufacturing are serious offenses, and those who are found to be involved in either can face harsh penalties. Furthermore, drug possession in Utah carries penalties that can range from substantial fines to severe prison sentences. Thus, if an individual is found to be in possession of, or in some way involved in the buying and selling of controlled substances, they may face serious repercussions, even if they are simply trading drugs with friends or acquaintances.
