How can I get a copy of my DWI conviction record?

In Texas, you can get a copy of your DRUNK DRIVING conviction record by obtaining a copy of your criminal history record from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). You can obtain a criminal history record either in person or online. If you are requesting the record in person, you must go to a local DPS Driver License Office. There, you must complete the Record Request Form, provide valid government identification (e.g. valid driver’s license or passport), and pay the required fee. If you are requesting your record online, you must create a record request account through the Texas Online Criminal History Record Web Portal. Once you create your account, you must provide valid government identification (e.g. valid driver’s license or passport) and pay the required fee. Once you have successfully submitted the request, the DPS will provide you with a copy of your DWI conviction record. Please note that it can take up to six to eight weeks for the DPS to process request. It is important to note that there are additional fees for obtaining a certified copy of your DWI record. If you require a certified copy for legal reasons, please contact the court where the DWI conviction occurred for additional information.
