To register in the state of Tennessee, you must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age, and a resident of Tennessee. If you meet these requirements, you can register in several different ways. First, you can register to vote in person at your county election commission office. You will need to bring two forms of identification, one of which must be a photo ID. Examples of acceptable photo IDs include a driver’s license, passport, state ID card or military ID card. Additionally, you can register to vote online at GoVoteTN.org. To register online, you must have a Tennessee driver’s license or state issued ID card. The process will ask you to fill in your personal information and confirm that you meet the requirements to register. Finally, you can register by mail with a voter registration application. To fill out a voter registration application, you need to provide personal information as well as the last four digits of your Social Security Number or an approved alternative form of identification. The application must be signed and mailed to the county election commission office. In Tennessee, you must register to vote at least 30 days prior to the election in order to vote in that election. If you meet the requirements and register by one of these methods, you are all set to vote in the next election.
