Does the FMLA require employers to pay employees on FMLA leave?
No, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) does not require employers to pay employees on FMLA leave in Colorado. It does, however, provide eligible employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid job-protected leave in a 12-month period. That means that the employee is still employed during their leave, and when they return, they have the same or an equivalent job and pay rate.
