In Texas, those who are eligible for health insurance include children, pregnant women, families, disabled and elderly individuals. Disabled adults can be eligible for Medicaid if they meet certain criteria, such as those receiving SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefits or those with a disability that prevents them from working. The income requirements also vary depending on the individual’s circumstances. Elderly individuals may be eligible for Medicaid if their income is below 135% of the poverty level and their assets are below $2,000. Those who are over the age of 65 and have Medicare Part A may also be eligible for additional coverage through Medicaid.
