What is an Arrest Warrant?

An arrest warrant is a legal document issued by a court or government agency that authorizes the arrest and detention of a person. In Florida, this type of warrant can be issued in immigration cases for violating immigration laws. Arrest warrants are typically requested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials when the person in question is suspected of being in the country illegally or is otherwise considered to be a threat to public safety. Once an arrest warrant is issued, it must be carried out by a law enforcement officer. During a deportation case, ICE officers will first ask the person to leave the country voluntarily before initiating deportation proceedings. If the individual refuses, the officers may execute the warrant and physically detain the individual. The main purpose of an arrest warrant is to protect the public by ensuring that those staying in the U.S. illegally are removed from the country. However, in some cases, people can be detained for long periods of time without any formal charges or criminal proceedings being brought against them. This is why it is important to understand the details of an arrest warrant and all immigration laws before making any decisions about your situation.
