What is the E-3 visa?
The E-3 visa is a type of visa that has been designed to encourage qualified professionals from Australia to come to the United States to both work and live. The visa was created in 2005 as part of a trade agreement between the U.S. and Australia. To be eligible for the E-3 visa, the worker must demonstrate that they are coming to the U.S.A. solely to work in a specialty occupation. In addition, the worker must show that they have the appropriate qualifications for the job, including higher education, work experience, and a job offer from either a U.S. employer or an affiliated Australian company. The E-3 visa can be used by Australian citizens only, and lasts up to two years. During the two-year period, the visa holder can continue to work and live in the U.S. It is important to note that the E-3 visa does not lead to a green card or lawful permanent residency. In addition, the visa holder must meet all U.S. immigration laws, including registering for employment authorization and keeping up with any current immigration regulations. In Pennsylvania, those who obtain an E-3 visa can work in any specialty occupation that requires professional education and experience, such as in engineering, technology, finance, or other specialized fields. After completing the two-year period, the visa holder needs to make plans to either renew or return to Australia. Overall, the E-3 visa provides an opportunity for qualified Australian professionals to take advantage of educational and employment opportunities in the United States. With careful planning and a strong job offer, the visa holder can look forward to a successful professional experience in the U.S.A.
