What is the E-3 visa?

The E-3 visa is a type of work visa for citizens of Australia to work in the United States. It was created through a special agreement between the United States and Australia in 2005. This type of visa is specifically for individuals with certain special skills and experience in the professional field. In Colorado, the E-3 visa allows individuals with a qualifying job offer from an American employer to enter the United States to work in a specialty occupation for up to two years. To apply for the E-3 visa, you must first obtain an approved Labor Condition Application (LCA) from the Department of Labor, stating that you’ll be offered a salary that meets or exceeds the prevailing wage rate for the job in the area you will work. In addition to the LCA, you must also provide evidence of your academic qualifications, such as diplomas or transcripts from an accredited school. You must also show evidence of your work experience in the form of letters from former employers, or other documents that show at least three years of related work experience. Once approved, the E-3 visa allows you to work in the United States for up to two years. During this period, you may not change employers or job duties without obtaining a new visa. However, if you want to stay in the United States longer, you can apply for extensions.
