What is an H-1A visa?
An H-1A visa is a type of non-immigrant visa used for students living in New Mexico who are seeking to come to the United States for a period of temporary study or research. This type of visa allows a foreign national to enter the United States and stay for the duration of their studies or research. In order to be eligible for an H-1A visa, the student must have obtained a valid offer of admission to an accredited program in the United States, have obtained all of the necessary approvals to receive a visa, and must have a valid passport. Once the visa is obtained, the student will be able to legally stay in the United States while they are studying or researching. They are however, expected to abide by the laws of the United States and will be subject to additional scrutiny if they remain in the country after their studies or research ends. Furthermore, it is important to note that the H-1A visa does not bring any form of permanent residency or citizenship with it and the student must depart the United States when their studies or research has concluded.
