How does an immigrant obtain a work permit?

In Mississippi, an immigrant who wishes to obtain a work permit must go through a proper process. In order to apply for a work permit, applicants must provide certain documents to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). These documents include proof of identity, proof of residence, proof of legal status in the United States, and a valid passport. Once all of these documents are received and reviewed by the USCIS, they will determine whether or not the applicant is eligible to receive a work permit. If approved, the USCIS will issue a work permit to the applicant which is usually valid for two years. In addition to providing the required documents, those applying for a work permit must also meet other criteria. For example, they must be able to show that they have the ability to be self-sustaining, meaning that they can support themselves financially. Additionally, they must have a valid offer of employment from an employer located in the United States, and they must not be in the country illegally. Once all of these criteria are met, the USCIS will review the application for a work permit and make a decision. If approved, the applicant will be granted a work permit which they can use to accept employment in the United States.
