What is the difference between a collective bargaining agreement and a labor contract?

The main difference between a collective bargaining agreement and a labor contract is that a collective bargaining agreement is a negotiation between the employer and the representatives of the employees, whereas a labor contract is a legally-binding document. A collective bargaining agreement should be updated periodically to reflect changes in the market, while a labor contract stays in effect until it is changed or terminated.
