The International Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction (CWC) is an international treaty that seeks to eliminate the use of chemical weapons and eliminate stockpiles of chemical weapons in any state. The CWC was adopted by the United Nations in 1993, and requires all signatories to have measures in place to prevent the unauthorized acquisition and use of chemical weapons.
