What is the difference between liability insurance and personal injury insurance?

Liability insurance and personal injury insurance are both types of insurance that protect individuals from legal and financial losses resulting from accidents. The difference between the two is the type of coverage they provide. Liability insurance is intended to cover costs if an individual is found to be negligent or legally responsible for an accident. Liability insurance may cover damages to property, medical expenses, and expenses related to legal defense in the event of a lawsuit. The insured individual does not have to suffer any physical injuries to be covered by liability insurance. Personal injury insurance, on the other hand, is designed to cover medical expenses for an individual who is injured in an accident. It pays for medical treatment for both physical and psychological injuries, as well as lost wages if the injured person is unable to work. Depending on the policy, personal injury insurance may also pay for rehabilitation costs, such as physical therapy, and legal fees if the injured person is sued. In Texas, both liability insurance and personal injury insurance are required by law. While they are similar, they serve different purposes. Liability insurance provides protection if an individual is found to be legally responsible for an accident, and personal injury insurance provides coverage for medical expenses and lost wages if an individual is injured in an accident.
