What is the legal drinking age in my state?
In the state of New Hampshire, the legal drinking age is 21 years of age. This means that only individuals who are 21 years of age or older are legally able to purchase, possess, and consume alcoholic beverages. This age limit is in line with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB)’s federal regulations in regards to the sale and purchase of alcohol. The age limit is also in line with Liquor Liability Law in New Hampshire. Under Liquor Liability Law in New Hampshire, any person or business that sells alcohol to someone under the age of 21 or who supplies an intoxicated person with alcohol can be held liable for any damages that their actions may have caused. This means that individuals, bars, restaurants, and retail stores can all be held liable for selling or providing alcohol to someone under the legal drinking age. It is important to remember that not only is it against the law for people under 21 to purchase or possess alcoholic beverages, but it is also illegal for anyone to provide alcohol to someone under the age of 21. Breaking these laws can result in serious legal penalties including fines and even jail time.
