What is the Employee Polygraph Protection Act?

The Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA) is a federal law that protects the rights of employees in Minnesota and all other states by restricting the use of lie detector tests. The EPPA makes it illegal for employers to require or even ask their employees to take lie detector tests as part of an employment-related investigation. The EPPA applies to both public and private employers in Minnesota, with a few exceptions.
