In Montana, the average length of notice to vacate a rental property varies depending on the duration of the rental agreement between landlords and tenants. According to Title 70, Chapter 24 of the state’s landlord and tenant law, if a tenant has a month-to-month agreement, the landlord must give the tenant at least 30 days’ written notice prior to the day the tenant is expected to vacate the property.
