In California, any person above the age of 18 who is a California resident can be eligible for a medical marijuana card. If you are under 18, you may still be eligible but will need to have a parent or guardian act as your caregiver and agree to be responsible for the medical and non-medical decisions regarding your marijuana use. Finally, you will need to register with the California Department of Health Services and receive a Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC). The MMIC will allow access to legal dispensaries and delivery services. In order to be eligible for a medical marijuana card in California, you must be 18 years of age or older and have a qualifying medical condition. A written recommendation from a certified physician is also required, as well as registration with the California Department of Health Services and a valid MMIC.
