What conditions qualify for medical marijuana?

In Washington State, there are many conditions that qualify for medical marijuana use. These conditions include cancer, seizure disorders, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, intractable pain, multiple sclerosis, and many more. Some chronic conditions like Crohn’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and depression may also qualify. In order to be approved by the Washington State Department of Health, the patient must have a qualifying condition and a valid doctor’s recommendation. Patients in Washington can apply for a medical marijuana card online or through their doctor. After an application is approved, the patient is issued a medical marijuana recognition card that identifies them as a legally qualified patient. The card also lists the qualifying conditions, allowing the patient to purchase medical marijuana from a licensed dispensary. Patients over 21 may possess up to 6 ounces of usable cannabis, while those under the age of 21 may possess up to 3 ounces. Patients may grow up to 6 plants at one time, with no more than 15 allowed per household. It is important to note that recreational marijuana use is illegal in Washington, and medical marijuana can only be obtained from licensed dispensaries.
