Are there any restrictions on the sale of edible medical marijuana products?
Yes, there are restrictions on the sale of edible medical marijuana products in Florida. In order to obtain edible medical marijuana products, a patient must obtain a doctor’s recommendation and obtain a medical marijuana card. A medical marijuana card can only be obtained by submitting a completed medical marijuana use registry application that includes a copy of your medical records and proof of identity. Additionally, a patient must be a Florida resident and must be over the age of 18. Once a patient has obtained a medical marijuana card, they may purchase edible medical marijuana products from a licensed dispensary. The edible products must be prepared in accordance with rigid safety standards. For example, the products must be packaged in a way that prevents contamination and must be labeled accurately. Furthermore, edibles must contain no more than 10mg of THC per pack. Patients are not allowed to grow their own edibles or purchase them from another person. It is also illegal to possess edible medical marijuana products outside of a licensed dispensary. It is important to remember that recreational marijuana is still illegal in the state of Florida, so recreational marijuana edibles are also prohibited.
