What is the Native American Rights Fund?
The Native American Rights Fund (NARF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving Indigenous rights in New Hampshire and throughout the United States. Founded in 1970, NARF has tackled issues ranging from the protection of treaty rights to providing legal assistance to Native Americans facing discrimination in the state. NARF works to uphold the U.S. government’s trust and treaty responsibilities to Native American tribes by providing legal assistance, advocacy, and research, as well as training and education. The organization has been instrumental in advocating on behalf of Indigenous rights, such as the protection of tribal lands, hunting and gathering rights, and fishing and water rights. NARF also works to help Native Americans in New Hampshire gain access to health care, education, and other services. Furthermore, NARF advocates for the legal rights of Native Americans in the court system and before the United States Congress.
