How often must I meet with my parole officer?
In Washington, the frequency with which you must meet with your parole officer depends on the type of parole you are under. Generally, probationers and parolees must meet with their parole officer at least once a month. This can be done in-person or through video conferencing. If you are on Supervised Release, Intensive Supervision Probation, or Drug Offender Sentencing Alternative (DOSA), you will be required to meet with your parole officer more often. Depending on your risk level and specific circumstances, you may be mandated to meet with your parole officer every 1-2 weeks or several times a week. Failure to meet with your parole officer as required can result in sanctions or even a parole violation. It is important that you stay in communication with your parole officer to make sure you know the exact requirements for meeting with them. If you are unable to meet with your parole officer due to a valid reason, you should explain your situation to them. You should also be aware that, even if you do not have an in-person meeting with your parole officer, you still must abide by the rules and regulations of your parole status.
