Yes, there are special laws in place to protect passengers in the event of aircraft hijacking in North Carolina. According to the North Carolina General Statute (NCGS) section 14-40.5, if a person unlawfully takes control of any aircraft, ship, railway car, motor vehicle, or other vehicle in or over the state of North Carolina, they are guilty of the offense of hijacking.
