What is the difference between a buyer’s and a seller’s agent?

When buying or selling a property, buyers and sellers are represented by a real estate agent. However, there is a key difference between a buyer’s and a seller’s agent: the primary goal of each. Their loyalty is to the seller and any communication with potential buyers must be in the seller’s best interests. Ultimately, both buyer’s agents and seller’s agents are responsible for protecting their clients’ interests and helping them acquire a favorable agreement when it comes to the purchase or sale of residential real estate in New York.
