What is the difference between a realtor and a real estate agent?
Realtors and real estate agents are both professionals who help people buy, sell, or rent real estate. However, they differ in their qualifications and roles. Real estate agents are licensed by the Kentucky Real Estate Commission and can help with residential or commercial transactions. They are knowledgeable about local and state laws and regulations, and they help people buy or sell real estate. Realtors are also licensed by the Kentucky Real Estate Commission like real estate agents. However, Realtors are members of the National Association of Realtors, which is a national professional organization. They are held to a higher standard of conduct than real estate agents, and they must abide by a code of ethics. Furthermore, Realtors have access to a range of services that real estate agents don’t, including the ability to list properties in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). In short, real estate agents and Realtors are both professionals in residential real estate law. However, Realtors have more qualifications and access to additional services due to their membership in the National Association of Realtors.
