How much does it cost to file a claim in small claims court?
In North Carolina, filing a claim in small claims court has certain costs associated with it. The exact fee for filing a small claims case is determined by the amount of the claim. If the claim is for up to $3,000, the filing fee is $50. For claims between $3,000 and $10,000, the filing fee is $80. And for claims of $10,000 or more, the filing fee is $200.
