How do I file an answer to a complaint filed in small claims court?

In Idaho, if a complaint has been filed against you in Small Claims Court, you can file an answer to that complaint. An answer is basically your response to the complaint and can deny all or some of the claims made against you. To file an answer, you should fill out an Answer Form, which is available from the court clerk or online from the Idaho court website. On this form, you will need to enter the names of the parties, the case number, and the court where the case is being heard. You will also need to indicate whether you are admitting or denying the claims made in the complaint, and if you are denying them, you should respond to each of the claims separately. Once you have completed and signed the Answer Form, you must file it with the court clerk. The clerk will enter the answer in the court file and provide you with a copy for your records. You will also need to send a copy of the Answer Form to the person or business that filed the complaint. Finally, you should appear at the court hearing on the date specified on your papers. At the hearing, you can present your answer and / or any evidence that supports it. The court will then make a decision based on all the evidence and testimony presented.
