How do I know if my student loan has been approved?

In order to know if your student loan has been approved in Pennsylvania, you will need to contact the institution from which you’re applying for the loan. Generally, they will require you to provide them with documents regarding your financial situation that they will use to determine if you are eligible for the loan or not. After they have received these documents and assessed your eligibility, they will contact you with their decision. If you’re applying for a loan from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA), they will contact you with their decision within five business days after they receive your application. If you’re approved, they will explain the terms of the loan and set up a repayment plan. They may also request additional documents or information to fulfill the requirements of the loan. For federal student loans, though, you will receive an email or letter from the U.S. Department of Education confirming that your request for the loan has been approved. At that point, you can check your loan status online to determine what the next steps will be, such as signing and submitting a promissory note. It’s important to keep in mind that student loans must be repaid, so it’s important to make sure that you understand all the terms and conditions of the loan before you agree to it. Be sure to ask any questions you have about the loan and repayment plan before making any commitments.
