How long can I receive Social Security Disability benefits?

In New Hampshire, the length of time for which you can receive Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits depends on several factors. The most common factor is your age. Generally, those who are 65 or older can receive SSD benefits for as long as they are disabled and meet all other eligibility requirements. For those younger than 65, a different set of criteria applies. The Social Security Administration (SSA) assesses continuing eligibility on a yearly basis. This is done to ensure that you remain disabled and meet all the requirements for receiving benefits. If, upon review of the yearly assessment, the SSA concludes that you are still eligible, you can continue to receive SSD benefits. In most cases, SSD benefits are available for as long as the disability persists and all other conditions are met. However, that being said, the SSA will occasionally require review of your disability in order to ensure that it remains permanent. If it is determined that your condition has improved to the point where you are no longer disabled, your benefits may be discontinued. Overall, the length of time for which you can receive SSD benefits depends on your individual circumstances. As long as you remain disabled and meet all other requirements, you can generally receive SSD benefits indefinitely.
