How can I check if I have any unpaid traffic tickets?
If you believe you may have an unpaid traffic ticket in Washington State, you can easily check online. Start by going to the Washington State Department of Licensing website. On the left hand side, click on the “Drivers” tab and select “Driver Record Request”. You’ll then be prompted to enter in your name, driver’s license number, and birthdate. Then, click “Submit”. Next, you’ll be directed to the “Driver Record Request” page, where you can review the information you’ve entered. At the bottom of the page is a section for “Driver Record Details”. Here, you can select “Driving & Vehicle History,” which will display if you have any unpaid traffic tickets in Washington State. If you do, you’ll find a list of traffic infractions along with amounts due. To ensure that all your records are updated, it’s recommended that you check your records every two to three years. If you’ve been gone for a while, it’s also recommended that you check your status with the Department of Licensing before you move back. If you find out that you do have an unpaid traffic ticket, you should immediately contact the court in the county where you received the ticket and make payment arrangements in order to avoid future penalties or fines.
